Hangar-7, located at Salzburg Airport, is a unique architectural building that fascinates with its extraordinary aesthetics and attracts people from all over the world. The 40 meter long entrance portal and two cylindrical towers were cut into the elliptical glass shell of the building, providing space for offices, bars, lounges and a restaurant that has been awarded two Michelin stars and five toques. The impressive building also fascinates with its interior and its view of the breathtaking mountain panorama. Numerous extraordinary exhibits await you at Hangar-7, such as original Formula 1 racing cars, motorbikes or aircrafts from the Flying Bulls fleet. Not only the exhibits themselves are worth seeing, however, but also the Hangar-7 itself. Its spectacular architecture makes it a destination worth visiting in its own right.
Many other exhibits from the world of Formula 1, motorbikes and selected racing cars can be admired at the Hangar-7 every day with free admission from 09:00am - 10:00pm.
The Hangar-7 is very easy to reach; ample parking is avaible for cars. It is also easy to get there by public transport using the city bus line 2 (Karolingerstraße stop) or bus line 10 (Pressezentrum stop).
The Flying Bulls are a stationed and privately owned fleet of majestic aircrafts that can be viewed every day free of charge at the Hangar-7. As all the aircrafts are airworthy, regularly maintained and used in various airshows, it is never possible to admire all the exhibits at the same time in the exhibition area at the Hangar-7. The centrepiece and so-called Grand Madame of the aircraft collection is a Douglas DC-6B, whose vertical stabiliser is nine metres high and once belonged to the Yugoslavian president.
Hangar-7 has always been a place of exchange, where in particular artists and friends of art mutually inspire each other. This is where the delightful and unique contrast between exhibition themes is nurtured - technology in all its manifestations on the one hand, and art themes on the other. In Hangar-7, art is not presented to you in an obtrusive manner, but is stylishly embedded in its surroundings and is accessible every day with free admission. The artistic works on display here are bathed in a different, appropriate light depending on the weather or the position of the sun. A special highlight is also the well-designed Bar-Food menu, which has been prepared by the outstanding chefs of the Ikarus Team.
Threesixty Bar
The Threesixty Bar is located directly under the dome of Hangar-7 and can only be reached by a bridge. Once you get there, you'll be reluctant to leave the bar. The diverse selection of creative cocktails based on the Lifetimes Drinks ORGANICS by Red Bull, exquisite Champagne and sparkling wines, leave no wish unfulfilled. In this extraordinary Bar you can enjoy a sight of the legendary aircrafts and helicopters of the Flying Bulls fleet.
Outdoor Lounge
Every airport in the world has a visitor terrace, but the most beautiful and impressive is probably the Hangar-7 Outdoor Lounge at Salzburg Airport. Here the quality of life of life of aircraft fans and barbecue enthusiasts is refined to the highest level in fair weather seven days a week during the summer months. While the unique and magnificent passenger planes and rarities of the Flying Bulls gather on the large runway, guests of the Hangar-7 Outdoor Lounge can be pampered exclusively by the Ikarus team in the open air.
